Key Responsibilities:
- Act as engineering partner for the Commercial Aviation & Network Services program office in Asia Pacific
- Understand the products developed in US, Asia and EMEA, represent ALL engineering at Asia Pacific design reviews with subcontractors
- Represent the company at regulatory meetings
- Bridge the gap between the regions and identify potential synergies in products and approaches.
- Translate a customer’s requirements into technical product capabilities and to effectively communicate new requirements to the Commercial Aviation Product Management organization driving the evolution of the product
- Champion of listening to customer requirements to channel product feedback and feature requests to the product management organization
- Understand business impacts of technical decisions
- Lead or assist in the review of requirements and business processes in order to design new business processes to engage the larger engineering organization
- Support RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs responses by ensuring engineering products and capabilities are well represented
- Assist marketing in identifying opportunities to expand product marketing collateral to help close sales opportunities
- Any other ad-hoc as assigned by the manager
- Travel up to 25% of the time
Key Requirements:
- Technical degree: BS, MS or strong equivalent experience
- Five years plus of experience in a technical implementation leadership role (project manager, technical lead or architect)
- Aviation industry experience from Aviation IT department, airlines engineering, flight operations, MRO, or air traffic
- Business or program leadership experience
- Results oriented, resourceful and comfortable working under tight deadlines with a demanding set of internal and external customers
- Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical users
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are a must; this position involves a significant amount of direct customer interaction
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills; candidates must be detail-oriented
- Team player with the ability to coordinate work with all team members
- Five plus years’ experience in a hi-tech sales/solution engineering or systems/network engineering role
- Ability to conduct technical conversations with prospects ranging from staff-level engineers and architects to senior executives
