Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • To take full responsibility of the shift in terms of management of staff, management of equipment and quality assurance for the work performed to ensure the smooth running of the Operation.
  • Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works.
  • Manage, develop and motivate staff in the shift team, inclusive of periodic meeting and team bonding sessions if required.
  • To ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company in line with the companies Health and Safety policy.
  • Problem solving, and troubling shooting skills are used to ensure team can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand. Be able to make appropriate decisions while following the organizational structure
  • Periodically or when deem required to guide and monitor the work performed by Technicians, provide guidance onsite.
  • Review and perform root cause analysis on the equipment that are assigned under Shift IC, even when the work is not being perform under the shift IC’s shift.
  • Reporting of maintenance report, report include works solutions to resolve any outstanding work.
  • Handling multiple work order from various business unit and Operation requirements.
  • To work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure handovers are done effectively and efficiently.
  • Promote and introduce maintenance best practices to the team, includes proposing and methods to execute the plan in the shift team. Plans have to be sustainable and achieve long term goals for JP.
  • Audit and ensure compliance of the engineering data accuracy (i.e. meter, work order timing and description)
  • Optimise equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and workmanship quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 to 7 yrs relevant working experience in Equipment Maintenance
  • Excellent leadership and man management skills
  • Decision-making skills – shift IC receive competing maintenance issues and must be able to determine the best order of priority
  • Communication skills – they must effectively communicate with subordinates, supervisors, and other shift IC to coordinate and delegate tasks and devise process improvements 
  • Time management – work assigned to shift IC must be completed before the next shift starts, which requires strong time management
  • Strong Technical knowledge – shift IC utilize several different machines and equipment and must be able to do so safely and correctly. They must also be competent in maintaining these machines and equipment
  • Good command of spoken and written English and good presentation skills
